Jimmy & Joan's New York

Guests at this bagel café are treated to an authentic New York experience, without having to cross the Atlantic. They serve proper New York bagels, cheesecake and Bulletproof coffee just the way they taste in The Big Apple, all served in stylish, big-city surroundings.

Elizabeth Rubin started the café on Teatergatan to introduce a little of the New York spirit she felt Gothenburg was missing to her new hometown. She was born and raised in New York and wanted to create something that reminded her of childhood walks to buy fresh bagels in the morning. The menu includes everything from classic bagels with cream cheese in different variations to toppings such as tuna and egg salad and smoked salmon.

As well as well roasted coffee, specially produced for J&J's by Da Matteo Magasinsgatan, Jimmy & Joan's also serves Bulletproof coffee - a special type of coffee mixed with organic coconut oil and imported French butter. Bulletproof coffee is said to be performance enhancing and good for the metabolism. If you're craving sugar, they also serve Stateside favourites such as cheesecake, cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies.

Like the menu, the impressive locale with its high ceilings, chandeliers and splashes of gold oozes authentic New York style. Guests who choose to eat their bagels on site may well forget for a moment which city they're in.
