For many, prawn sandwiches are synonymous with a visit to Gothenburg - if you're in town, you've got to eat at least one prawn sandwich. Opinions vary widely on how the perfect prawn sandwich should taste. Most agree on the basics - hand-peeled prawns, egg and mayonnaise - but after that it's a free for all. Heaven 23

What may just be the most famous prawn sandwich in the country goes by the name of King Size and it's served high above the ground at Heaven 23. As the name suggests, it's on the large side - some 200 grams of hand-peeled Arctic prawns cover this celebrity sandwich. Since they opened in 1984, Heaven 23 has served more than two million prawn sandwiches and their popularity shows no signs of waning.
