For Valentine's Day this year, The Kensington Hotel is combining romance and artistry with its new Live Illustrator Afternoon Tea Series. Tuck into The Art of Afternoon Tea while renowned artist Niki Groom creates a stunning hand-drawn illustration of your experience. The illustrator series is available on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th February from 12–4 pm, all complimentary for those who book afternoon tea on those dates. Niki will also be available on other dates listed below.
The Art of Afternoon Tea takes inspiration from some of the world's favourite artists through intricate art-themed treats and cocktails. Highlights include a dark chocolate mousse tart inspired by Jackson Pollock's drip technique, a mango mousse creation depicting Yayoi Kusama's beloved polka-dot pumpkins, and a white chocolate dessert based on Alicja Kwade's natural spheres.
Tea is served in The Kensington Hotel's elegant Drawing Room, which includes traditional afternoon tea staples such as finger sandwiches with fillings like smoked salmon and lemon cream cheese, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, and a selection of teas from The Rare Tea Company.
