Sweden's National Day is celebrated on June 6th each year, with food, music and entertainment. There are several spots in and around Stockholm where you can join in the patriotic party, including parties in the park, musical performances by major artists and traditional dancing and flag-waving at Skansen. At Skansen, Sweden's National Day is celebrated from morning until evening with various activities for young and old. There will be a flag workshop, old-fashioned games and folk dance demonstrations and much more. The day ends with the traditional National Day concert on the Solliden stage, which is broadcast on SVT Play.

This year's programme in Rålambshovsparken includes several activities for children and young people. There will be face painting, balloons and performances by Kulturskolan, as well as the opportunity to try out everything from skateboarding and basketball to an obstacle course. Candy floss, ice cream and hot dogs will be on sale.

National Day means race day at Gärdet. Fast horses and brave jockeys compete for first place and festivities include a hat parade, food and drinks, and activities for children.

Hågelbyparken in Tumba will be celebrating with family-friendly fun and activities. There will be entertainment on the stage and Botkyrka municipality will be welcoming new Swedish citizens. To celebrate the 6th of June and honour Swedish songwriter Olle Adolphson on what would have been his 90th birthday, a full day of activities and concerts is being arranged in Södermalm. The day kicks off with a march from Zinkensdamm to Ekermanska Malmgården, where the Railway Orchestra parades to the tunes of the bard's songs, followed by activities, more concerts and a film.
