If you fancy a hotel stay that's guaranteed to be extra special, then it might be time to check into a Michelin hotel. Sweden has several hotels that have been awarded the Michelin Guide's coveted Michelin Key – an award that brings together the best of the best in all categories. In order to receive Michelin keys, hotels must be exceptional in terms of interior design as well as service, personality, value for money and what they have to add to their area. One key is given to gems with character, two keys to hotels that are unique in every way, and three keys to the ultimate in comfort, service and elegance. No matter how many keys a Michelin hotel has, you're unlikely to be disappointed. Here we list all the Michelin hotels in Sweden right now.

Hotel with two Michelin keys in Sweden

Grand Hôtel

Renowned luxury

Grand Hôtel in Stockholm was the only hotel in Sweden to be awarded two Michelin Keys in 2025, which perhaps isn't so surprising – the renowned luxury hotel has been attracting world-renowned guests, Nobel Prize laureates and politicians since the 19th century. In the stately building opposite the Royal Palace and the Old Town, they boast stylish hotel rooms in a classic style, as well as luxurious restaurants such as the Michelin-starred Seafood Gastro, a Nordic spa and magnificent facilities, including the Spegelsalen which is inspired by Versailles.

Arctic Bath

In the heart of Arctic nature

The Arctic Bath spa hotel is a completely unique Michelin-starred hotel that floats on the Lule River in northern Sweden. As a guest you can enjoy a holistic Arctic nature experience year-round, and can take part in everything from relaxing sauna rituals with invigorating cold plunges, to fine dining with local produce and activities in the expansive landscape. The accommodation itself consists of floating and land-based cottages and suites, all combining natural, sustainable materials with Scandinavian design.

Bank Hotel

Elegant throughout

The Stureplan group's first hotel, Bank Hotel, is housed in an old bank building on Blasieholmen in Stockholm. Stay, eat and drink cocktails in surroundings that are elegant through and through, inspired by the building's era as a bank. Bank Hotel offers luxurious accommodation with everything from cosy small rooms to enormous suites, but there is more to explore. Try the renowned dessert Smash the Piggy Bank inside the splendid Bonnie's restaurant and head to the top of the building, to the Parisian rooftop bar Le Hibou which serves cocktails with views over the rooftops.

International success

If you want to feel at home even when you're far away, you've come to the right place. Ett Hem is housed in a beautiful former private residence from 1910 that has been converted into a personal hotel with the help of the British designer Ilse Crawford. It's now a Michelin hotel, which is hardly surprising. In addition to the luxurious rooms, all of which are decorated in an individual style, there's also a home-style restaurant, lounge, inner courtyard and a gym that offers yoga, Pilates, personal training and treatments, among other things. The hotel has been internationally acclaimed and is as dreamy as a home can be.

Hotel Frantz

Old meets new

In a historic 17th-century building right next to Slussen, this family-owned boutique hotel is named after the master tailor Frantz Bock, who had the house built. The hotel has preserved much of the old and blended it with international and local influences to preserve its heritage and inspire new experiences, in the same spirit as Frantz. Despite its unusually central location, between Södermalm and the Old Town, this is a discreet hotel that also offers ambitious dining experiences and a fun bar scene.

Hotel Ruth

Charming in Siberien

Hotel Ruth, sister hotel to Hotel Frantz, invites you to a charming 19th-century building in Siberien, inspired by classic Stockholm apartments. The rooms are furnished with velvet sofas in rich tones, floral headboards, chequered floors and Victorian bathtubs, and the restaurant and bar maintain the same personal, warm style. Stay overnight or simply drop in for a bite to eat or a glass of wine in the company of locals.

Lydmar Hotel

Vibrant living room

The Lydmar Hotel on Blasieholmen has long been known for its buzzy atmosphere and living room-like environment with views of the Strömmen waterway. Forget stiff and formal, this five-star boutique hotel has nailed the relaxed and informal vibe – with a healthy dose of finesse, naturally. Check into one of the eclectically furnished rooms, dine in the cosy restaurant, have a drink at the bar and hang out on the terrace or on the outdoor seating by the harbour. You can also enjoy both live performances and exhibitions here.

Nobis Hotel

Contemporary luxury

Right in the centre of Norrmalmstorg, this contemporary luxury hotel was designed by renowned architects Claesson Koivisto Rune. Nobis Hotel is a lively meeting place which, in addition to its hotel rooms, also includes restaurants, the famous Gold Bar and an impressive lounge with a ceiling height of 28 metres. It's easy to feel at home here, whether you're a discerning traveller or a fun-loving Stockholmer. You're also right in the city centre with shops, restaurants, bars and cafés on the doorstep. Acne Studios' flagship store is right next door.

Stockholm Stadshotell

Tastefully located in the heart of Södermalm

Stockholm Stadshotell opened its doors in the heart of Södermalm in 2025 and received its Michelin Key the same year. The slightly dreamlike hotel is housed in a historic building from the 19th century, where modern aesthetics mingle with classical elegance. The 32 rooms and suites are tastefully furnished with natural materials such as timber, limestone and marble, and are offered in several categories, from small to large. There are also two equally tasteful restaurants, a bar, a lounge and a continental-style courtyard, which makes the hotel a vibrant meeting place where you'll encounter both locals and hotel guests.

Villa Dagmar

Attracts world travellers and locals

Close to Östermalms Saluhall indoor food market is the exclusive boutique hotel Villa Dagmar, housed in a classic Art Nouveau building from the 19th century. The fact that Villa Dagmar is named after a cosmopolitan relative says a lot about the hotel's sophisticated atmosphere. With its 70 intimate hotel rooms, inspiring surroundings and an inviting restaurant, hotel bar and back room, this is a meeting place for both world travellers and locals. You can also unwind with a treatment or a workout session in the hotel's Dagmar Spirit & Retreat.

Look out over the rooftops

A real oasis just a few steps from Drottninggatan. Villa Dahlia, sister hotel to Diplomat and Villa Dagmar, sits right beside the lush Tegnérlunden park and evokes thoughts of a stylish townhouse in Milan. This chic boutique hotel, whose name is inspired by the family's flower garden, consists of welcoming rooms and suites with views over the rooftops. The hotel also invites you to a food bar on the ground floor, a rooftop bar at the very top, a courtyard and a spa with holistic treatments. Families as well as friends, couples and even dogs are welcome here.
