Åregården

In the heart of the village

You can't stay much more centrally than at Åregården. Right next to the town square, this majestic wooden alpine hotel has rustic decor and a warm and inviting atmosphere. From the rooms, you can glimpse either the slopes or the lake, and if you enjoy having food and wine options close at hand, there are several choices without leaving the hotel. The Wine Bar, the Saddle Bar, and the lobby bar all offer different themes and menus.

Granen

"At Petter's House"

Hotel Granen is just a stone's throw from the town square, next to the funicular railway. Musical artist Petter is a part owner, and even though he mostly lurks in the background, he can sometimes be spotted here. The hotel has an authentic atmosphere with a mountain style and an open fireplace, but modern and newly renovated rooms.

Copperhill Mountain Lodge

The best views in Åre

If you enjoy beautiful vistas, you should book a stay at Copperhill, right at the top of Björnen. The road winds its way up amongst the mountain cabins until you finally reach the summit of Förberget. The hotel is now owned by Petter Stordalen and is a luxury spa hotel with ski in and ski out access. Families as well as conference guests and couples looking to indulge stay here.

Hotell Fjällgården

Like in the Alps

If you want to stay right on the slopes, you should check in at Fjällgården. The funicular railway takes you straight down to the square within a couple of minutes, and if you want to hit the slopes, you're only a few metres from the Fjällgårds Express ski lift and hiking trails. Gaze out over the valley from both hotel rooms and the bar, restaurant, and outdoor pool.

This cosy mountain hotel between Rödkullen and Ullådalen is also very popular for its restaurant. Whether it's for lunch on the slopes or a fine dinner in the evening, it's often bustling with people here. The rooms are decorated in typical mountain style, with a luxurious feel. If you like, you can also book their sauna and hot tub.

Parkvillan

Central location

If you're looking for peace and quiet, Parkvillan may not be the place for you - rooms are in the same building as their restaurant and bar, directly above. Ideal for anyone looking for a vibrant place to stay though, close to craft beer and high-quality small dishes. The hotel has twelve beds spread across a total of five rooms, and to quote them directly – "Perfect for anyone's who's in Åre to have fun".

Hotell Karolinen

Beautifully located

Between Åreskutan mountain and Lake Åre lies Karolinen, a small-scale hotel that offers accommodation in both hotel rooms and private mountain cabins. Sink down in front of the open fire in the lobby and unwind after a long day on the slopes, or enjoy a sauna and outdoor bathing. The hotel's cosy soapstone grill restaurant serves local dishes with the main course cooked on hot stones right at the table. The ski bus to Åre and Björnen stops here and takes you to the slopes in no time.

As well as classic hotel rooms, you can book one of their adjacent cabins, and the range of activities available is huge. There's an enormous indoor and outdoor gym with a view of the lake, an adventure pool and sauna spa, several restaurants and bars, as well as rental of various equipment for fun activities in the mountains. You can also hold conferences for 1500 people here.
