Seasonal and local produce is at the heart of the cooking here.

Whether Restaurang Tran got its name from its location next to Transås Lake or from the owners' family name, we shall leave unsaid – either way, this Vietnamese eatery is a lovely spot for both lunch and dinner. Dennis and Linh Tran serve homemade food that reflects the family's roots in Vietnam, with authentic flavours and plenty of greens.

To accompany this, you are treated to one of Borås' perhaps best views all year round, thanks to the restaurant's large windows overlooking Sandwalls plats. At the weekend, they also serve brunch.

Nordiska is on Västerbrogatan 15 in Borås. They serve dinner with a focus on seasonal Nordic ingredients. The menu is regularly updated to reflect which ingredients are available. The idea for what is now Balthazar was born from the combination of twelve litres of champagne, the three wise men, and a cartoon character.
