The bright yellow Stirling Arms in Hove is a proper local boozer, and the kind of place where you can lose yourself in a Sunday roast, sip a G&T to live jazz, or catch some sun in the courtyard garden. Weekly events, such as oyster happy hours and taco nights, keep things exciting and affordable, and if one pint turns into three (it will), their chic en-suite rooms upstairs make an overnight stay very tempting.
