Volks is named after the inventor of the first electric railway in the UK, Magnus Volk, who built the railway on the beach opposite the club.
Tucked into the historic colonnade alongside Madeira Drive, Volks has been a mainstay of clubbing in Brighton for over a quarter of a century, making it one of the oldest nightlife hotspots in the city. Parties at the beachfront venue, start late and finish even later, making it popular with night owls, though day raves are not out of the question either. Different music genres are played here, with a clear emphasis on electronic beats.
