About a year ago, MasterChef winner Simon Wood closed down his acclaimed eponymous restaurant for good, citing untenable business costs. The former restaurant venue has been unoccupied since, but now the next tenant has been announced.
Unlike Wood's fine dining approach, the new tenant, 9inety 6ix, aims for a more relaxed, casual atmosphere. Part bar, part restaurant, and part entertainment hub, the new venture promises to bring together food, drinks, games, and live entertainment under one roof. The menu will feature comforting classics like burgers, loaded fries, and fired chicken, while the drinks will aim for accessibility.
While there, you'll be able to play a variety of games, including darts, shuffleboard, pool, and air hockey, while a lively events programme featuring concerts, DJ sessions, open mic nights, and more will ensure there's always something fun going on. Thanks to its campus proximity, the venue is sure to be a big hit with Manchester's student populace.
9inety 6ix is slated to open in the first week of December, with an exact date still to be announced. They have, however, revealed they'll be open on Christmas Eve, so no one will feel left out come the festive season.
