Manchester's streets are set to bloom again as the Manchester Flower Festival returns over the late May Bank Holiday, but this time with a global spin.
It takes place from 23–26 May with the theme 'Manchester and Other Great Cities Around the World'. They're turning the city centre into an international garden trail, including cherry blossoms from Osaka, the bold colours of Mumbai's Holi, and even New York stoop gardens, all reimagined in floral form.
The festival is now in its eighth year, and has become a May staple, pulling in big crowds with its creative installations, workshops, pop-up bars, and live entertainment, all brought to life by Manchester City Centre BID.
Highlights include a peaceful Japanese scene at the Arndale, complete with a koi pond and torii gate, and a colourful Bollywood-inspired setup on Exchange Street. King Street gets a double feature with blooms around a mini Eiffel Tower and a tribute to NYC's urban green spaces. There's also a Marrakech-inspired display on New Cathedral Street and an ode to Manchester's industrial roots in St Ann's Square.
Expect DJs, cocktail trails, flower workshops, and plenty of spots to kick back in a pop-up garden.
Catch it from 10am–7pm (23–25 May) and until 5pm on 26 May. Click here for the full trail map.
