Located between Castlefield, Spinningfields, and Deansgate, St. John's is quickly gaining attention with its eclectic mix of local hotspots. Now, there's one more addition to the list—Trading Route.
The new venture is a collaboration between beloved Manchester gems Trof, Manchester Union Brewery, and Wandering Palate and takes inspiration from Europe's finest beer halls to create a space offering ice-cold beers, hearty food, and a luxury larder of expertly sourced goods.
Manchester Union's lagerhouse is at the heart of the venue, serving their signature craft beers in custom-made Tübinger glasses. The bar will be the brewery's unofficial taproom, where you can sip on freshly brewed beers straight from Manchester Union's Ardwick-based brewery.
The food is just as tempting. A purpose-built rotisserie cooks juicy chicken, with whole and half chickens carved to order and served with pickles, dips, and a variety of sides. The Trof team has crafted a menu that includes everything from fresh sandwiches on focaccia baked in-house to hearty chicken fat and pecorino potatoes, small plates, and more. There's also a breakfast and lunch menu, including things like crispy sausage, pancetta and roasted tomato focaccia slices, and freshly baked cookies. Wandering Palate will also supply artisan goods to purchase and take home, including regional wines, cheeses, and other provisions.
