One of the hottest of Mancunian hotspots, the stylish Australasia is changing direction after more than a decade, and good things are on the horizon.
Australasia has been one of Manchester buzziest restaurants for years, and its accompanying bar Sunset by Australasia no less so. That's about to change with next month, however, as Sunset will be closing down and relaunching as not just a bar, but an exciting restaurant too.
Reopening as Ocasa, the refurbished venue, clad in natural materials, mood-setting lighting, and earthy colours, will serve a menu of Asian-inspired Mexican fusion cuisine – think yaki-tacos, the offspring of a taco and a yakitori skewer. The elevated street food will be accompanied by the finest of tequilas from the bar's tequila library.

After closing at the end of March, Australasia will also be reborn in time for Easter, with the revamped venue relaunching as a nature-inspired oasis inspired by Pacific Rim shores. Celebrating the bold flavours of these sun-soaked paradises, the menu will highlight open-flame cooking complemented by inventive cocktails, with live music and DJs adding to the ambiance.
Australasia and Ocasa (re)open on 18 April, and by the looks of things, their hotspot credentials aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
