The Albert is a Withington-based pub, boasting an Irish pub decor despite its Victorian-tiled facade and classic hand-painted signs. Like many esteemed pubs, it oozes an authentic, well-worn vibe, evident both outside and in. Inside, you'll find a mishmash of pastel floor tiles, white-washed walls and strip lighting – not conventionally pretty, but it has character. Although it's not the liveliest pub in Manchester, they've been known to pour the best pint of Guinness in the whole city, and people know it. Landlord Tom Grogan celebrated his 92nd birthday in January and is believed to be the oldest publican in the country. He's been the landlord at The Albert for 39 years!
