Kajplats 9

A brick building by the harbour, which used to be Västerås' customs house, is now home to Kajplats 9, a brasserie that takes its inspiration from the water and the changing seasons. The emphasis is on fish and shellfish, and you can eat and drink al fresco when the weather allows.  

It's not surprising the brasserie sources many of its ingredients from the sea and lakes. In addition to fish and shellfish, you can also choose from traditional Swedish dishes and seasonal dishes, all served in the light, airy waterside restaurant. If you want to treat yourself, order some oysters and the seafood platter. 

The restaurant aims to be a natural meeting place for anyone who appreciates beautiful surroundings and experiences you can enjoy with all your senses, whether you're just passing and drop in or want to treat yourself to something extra special at the weekend - or in the middle of the week. Everyone should be able to find something they fancy here, whether it's the food, drinks or the relaxed atmosphere. 

When the weather allows, usually from spring until autumn, the outdoor dining area is a major draw. Guests can enjoy food, drinks and ice cream from their own ice cream bar against a backdrop of hard-to-beat views over Lake Mälaren. 

Upstairs, in the Customs House, they've created a stylish function space ideal for events, conferences and lunch meetings, as well as weddings, dinners and Christmas buffets. Staff can help you tailormake a bespoke package that includes toilets, wardrobe, white tablecloth, linen napkins, waiting staff cleaning, simple sound and lighting and access to Spotify.
