- Wine bar
A play-on-words between the Swedish words for wine and library became Vibliotek, the name of this tapas and winebar alongside the canal. Culinary inspiration comes from Spain and the Mediterranean, with everything from gazpacho to croquetas, tortilla and paella on the menu.
Delightfully situated canal-side, this combined bar and restaurant is a little slice of Spain in Malmö. And it's not just the food that's Spanish, the culture, language and music all feel authentically Iberian too.
Come as you are for a quick cup of coffee at the bar, stay on and take in the atmosphere or gather a group of friends over some tapas. Everything you'll find on the menu, and behind the bar, is imported from Spain - even the furniture and floor were sourced there.
The founder and owner Jan Badosa has a background in the advertising industry and Vibliotek produces their own newsletter, where you can read about Spanish culture and daydream about sunnier climes as you sip a glass of cava.
They arrange everything from language cafés and family-friendly brunches to good value post-work drinks. Vibliotek is like a showroom for Spain and if you can't get enough of the Spanish delights on-site, you can also buy olive oil, sardines and charcuterie to take home with you.
