A few weeks ago, we reported that after 13 years, iconic burger spot Almost Famous was going into liquidation and closing down all locations. In news that is sure to delight Mancunian burger aficionados, there has been a positive development in the story.

The D2 company, which is run by former Almost Famous operations director Daniel Kelly, has managed to acquire not just the Almost Famous brand, but two of its locations as well – one in Manchester's Northern Quarter and one in Liverpool. Huzzah!

D2 plans on reopening the branches ASAP – on Friday 21 February and Monday 24 February, respectively – keeping things as they were for the most part and hiring back as much of the previous team as possible. If you've been pining for one of Almost Famous' burgers or regretting never having tried it, you know what to do.
