Get Baked, a Leeds cake shop, went stratospheric on social media thanks to its 12-layered chocolate cake, racking up millions of views and having sugar fiends from across the country make their way to Leeds in the hopes of snagging a slice of the sell-out dessert. Now the venture is gearing up to open a branch in Manchester.

Located in Stevenson Square, this is only Get Baked's second location, meaning the city is joining a very exclusive club for now. Unlike the Leeds original, which has both dine-in and takeaway options, Get Baked Manchester will be takeaway only – possibly an outright improvement, as no one needs to see you tackling a massive piece of chocolate cake like there's no tomorrow.

In addition to the cakes, which, in yet another signifier of the demand for them, are also available at Fortnum & Mason, Get Baked also offers other goodies like cookies, brownies, and so on, all to be available in Manchester as well.

Get Baked Manchester opens on Friday 14 March, but considering the brand's popularity, you might want to start queueing as soon as you read this.
