Plans are underway for a brand new floating hotel located on the waters at Salford Quays, near the Lowry Theatre. Netherlands-based architect Ninetynine is designing a 180-room haven for The Good Hospitality Group and is currently in the pre-planning consultation phase. It aims to be complete by early 2026, pending approval from Salford City Council.

If all proposals are approved, the hotel will feature three floors, including guest rooms, an open-plan living area, and a bar-restaurant that will be accessible to both guests and the general public. Its location will be just north of the Lowry Theatre and a short stroll from the MediaCityUK Metrolink stop, meaning the city's top attractions will be just a short journey away.

The hotel will be built in the Netherlands and then towed to its final location, designed to be resilient against climate change, including flooding and extreme rainfall.

The vessel is expected to be docked by autumn or winter of the coming year, with a grand opening planned for 2026.
