In news that's sure to be of interest to Manchester's foodies, influencers, and people who just like to treat themselves to a nice meal out, two internationally renowned restaurant groups will be opening their inaugural Manchester branches in 2025.
The first of these is Big Mamma Group, whose Italian dining palaces are famed for their over-the-top interiors and equally decadent Italian cuisine, featuring showstoppers such as massive gelato cakes, pasta rolled in wheels of cheese, and more. The group, which has a number of restaurants in London, will be expanding their Circolo Popolare concept north, complete with glittering decor, Italian waiters, and, er, loos you really have to see to believe.
The second acclaimed restaurant group to launch in Manchester next year is Chotto Matte, a global Nikkei fusion institution. Also known for its chic interiors and attention to detail, the restaurant serves fresh, nutritious Peruvian-Japanese dishes such as ceviche, tiradito, and sushi, accompanied by expertly mixed cocktails and a lively atmosphere. Covering 20,000 sq ft, the Manchester branch is set to become the largest restaurant in the entire city, and will also boast a rooftop terrace with a fire pit and panoramic views.
Both of these new openings will be located at the heavily anticipated St Michael's redevelopment in Spinningfields, which will also offer sustainable workspaces, a proper pub, and residences. Circolo Popolare will be taking over the ground and first floor, while Chotto Matte will be up above on the rooftop, as mentioned.
Both restaurants are slated for opening in 2025, and we'll have more on the opening dates as they're announced.
