The team behind successful live adaptations of hits such as “The Crystal Maze” and “Tomb Raider” has announced they'll be tackling the classic arcade game next with the help of augmented reality.
Using state-of-the-art AR technology, the Pac-Man Live Experience will place you in the titular character's role as you make your way around different immersive mazes. Along the way, you'll have to gather pellets and power-ups to rack up points, all the while avoiding mean ghosts out to spoil the fun. In short, it'll be just like the pioneering arcade game, but life-sized, and with the recent trends towards 1980s nostalgia still going strong, that sure sounds like a winning formula to us.
Aimed at players between the ages of eight and 80, the Pac-Man Live Experience promises oodles of fun for the whole family. It'll be located at the Games Arcade, taking over the space of what is currently another activity inspired by an iconic game – the Super Mario-themed Chaos Karts. There's no word yet on the exact opening date, but we'll let you know as soon as it's revealed.
