The new opening by one of the most respected restaurant teams in the city promises to combine fresh seafood with fresh tunes and refreshing drinks.
Higher Ground is one of Manchester's finest dining establishments, regularly ranking among the best restaurants in the city thanks to its celebrated seasonal cuisines and carefully managed wine list, so any news of an opening from the team behind is sure to be worth your time.

And it doesn't walk with a limp
Come now, Sam-I-Am, don't be a wimp
Bar Shrimp looks to be quite jimp
The founders of Higher Ground will be adding to their empire (which so far includes the Flawd wine shop and bar on Islington Marina and the Cinderwood market garden in Cheshire) with Bar Shrimp this year. Billed as a seafood and listening bar, the new venture will serve a menu of seafood and snacks, pour considered cocktails and craft beers, and pump soothing beats through its world-class sound system.
Not much more is known about Bar Shrimp at this time, not even the location. There's a tentative launch date of Winter 2025, a snazzy logo with a bit of Dr Seuss about it, a website, and an Instagram profile, and that's about it. We'll keep you posted with new developments as they're revealed.
