Break into a bank vault in the middle of the night, for example, and steal a diamond before the night watchman arrives.

40 challenges in five categories await keen code-breakers and competitive spirits behind the doors of Utmaningarnas Hus. High-level teamwork is required to beat the clock and other teams and to be in with a chance of making the annual leaderboard - so don't forget to come up with a great team name!

This fun activity centre for adults is on Djäknegatan in the city centre, you will find this recreational centre for adults. By combining table tennis with pizza, a bar, and cool music, Slice aims to encourage more people to try the sport in a relaxed setting. An activity just as fun for after-work drinks, hen and stag dos, corporate events, or just hanging out with friends. 

Malmö isn't known as "the city of parks" for nothing. Some of the best outdoor group activities can be enjoyed in parks - boules, kubb, croquet and frisbee to name just a few. Our favourite parks are without doubt Slottsparken and Pildammsparken, both of which have plenty of wide open green spaces ideal for stretching out and playing in.

Funplays is a colourful activity centre that has something for the whole family. The aim is to get children and young people moving through play and fun, and there are plenty of slides, trampolines, ball pits, climbing frames and other activities. Turn the floor into a stormy sea and let your imagination run wild.

Rent a pedalo, take along a little picnic and pedal past leafy parks and birdlife. The boat has space for four people and you can borrow life jackets at no extra cost. In other words, it's very good value if you're sharing the cost.

Inspired by the outdoor ping pong tables you'll find all over Berlin and other cities, Värnhemstorget and Folkets Park have set up their own outdoor ping pong tables. Carry a racket and ball with you at all times in case the mood should take you.

Bowling is a classic group activity. There's a whole range of different places to choose from in Malmö and our favourites are O'Leary's at Entré and Big Bowl, both located on Värnhemstorget. Both places offer several other fun activities too.  .

Frisbee golf, or disc golf as it's also known, is a group sport that's gaining popularity. The principle is simple - play a round with as few throws as possible. The best places to try it are Bulltoftaparken, where there's a course just for frisbee golf, or Sibbarp, where you can play on a course with sea views.

Billiards is a good old-fashioned group activity that never goes out of style. There are several billiards halls in Malmö to choose from; Interpool Biljard with its 19 billiards tables and serious billiards feel is one of our favourites.

If you're not afraid of heights, climbing is an activity that guarantees some great adrenaline kicks. There are a a couple of climbing centres in and around Malmö; the Stapelbäddsparken boulder park is ideal for beginners. If you're more experienced, we recommend a trip out to Hovs Hallar or Kullen for some awesome wild climbing.

Run around with a futuristic laser weapon in your hand through dark alleyways and up and down ramps. The best place to try lasergame (or lasertag, as it's also known) is Laserdrome, which has large gaming area and well-planned courses packed with obstacles, ramps, alleyways and guaranteed adrenaline rushes.

Put your helmet on, fasten your seatbelt, floor the gas and be Malmö's best racing driver for the day. There are several great courses in and around town but Gokartcity and Lockarps Gokart are our favourites.

See the city from a whole new perspective with City Escape Games, which is like an escape room but out in the city. Using an app, solve riddles, missions, and challenges to find your way out through the secret doorway – but beware, as each incorrect answer results in a time penalty! Just as suitable for playing alone, with friends, or with colleagues, and recommended for ages 13 and up.

Load up your weapon with colourful plastic bullets and let the other team have it. Malmö now has its own paintball arena where you can play indoors. If you don't mind travelling a little further, the paintball course in Löddeköpinge is a great alternative where you can play outdoors on one of northern Europe's largest paintball courses.

Look cool as you glide smoothly across the waves on a pair of waterskis or a wakeboard. Malmö's waterskiing club arranges courses allowing you to fine-tune your skills.

Jump high up over the waves with a kite that pulls you up above the surface of the water. There's now a recently-built kite centre with rental facilities and a beachfront café on Lomma beach. During the summer months there's a full range of courses, allowing even complete beginners to get to grips with the sport.

Yes, you can windsurf in Skåne. There are several great clubs close to Malmö where you can try out standing on a surfboard, or hire one. There are also various classes to choose from for beginners.

You're never too old to learn to ride! At Malmö Riding Club, they arrange riding lessons for all ages and levels, and they also have special facilities for disabled people. Get some fresh air and good exercise as well as making new two-legged and four-legged friends.

You don't have to be a golf pro to appreciate a day on the golf course – enjoy a peaceful round and take in the scenic surroundings. The National is one of Europe's most extensive golf facilities, and in addition to three well designed golf courses, it also includes indoor golf with simulators and a range with both infrared heating and lighting. Several different courses are organised for beginners, including an intensive course for a green card.
