The guide to Malmö's best falafel

There are few things more typically Malmö than eating falafel. Malmö's unofficial official dish is everywhere and is as much a part of the city's charm as the parks, Gamla Väster, Turning Torso and Möllan. Many people set out to eat their way through a large section of the city's incredible falafel selection, but if you'd rather go straight to the top tier, we've put together a handy guide here. From Norra Grängesbergsgatan to Västra Hamnen - here's where to find Malmö's best falafel.

Falafel by Youssif

From the father of falafel

Youssif Iskandarani has been serving falafel in Malmö since the late 1980s, as one of the very first to introduce the dish in Sweden. The recipe, the same one Youssif's father taught him when he was young, is a winning formula – his falafel has been named the best in Malmö several times. Good quality chickpeas, crispy vegetables, and flavourful sauces characterise the wraps served from a food truck out in Fosie.

Sara

Simple and homemade

Going to Sara's for a falafel often means getting a wrap, as the extra soft and warm homemade bread is a favourite for many in the city's falafel jungle. There's plenty of space here with an open area for those who want to sit down for a while and enjoy the hustle and bustle.
