After functioning as a slaughterhouse between 1904 and 1969, Slagthuset was converted into a centre for events, meetings and functions in 1992. The large spaces are now used for concerts, theatrical performances, fairs and conferences, among other things. There's also a popular lunch restaurant here that is open during the day and in the evenings in connection with events.
Slagthuset's restaurant is a popular lunch restaurant for anyone who wants to eat a daily lunch special with meat, fish and vegetarian options, but it is also possible to book a table and pre-order food for selected concerts and public events in the building. Companies can book afterwork events, Christmas parties, dinners and other corporate events in the premises. There are long tables, wooden chairs, plants and bookshelves that all contribute to the historic environment.
Slagthuset's impressive building offers a unique setting, with exposed brick walls, arches and glass ceilings just a stone's throw from Malmö Central Station. Events such as theatre, stand-up, live performances and fairs take place here. Slagthuset has 17 rooms and foyers that are also suitable for everything from small meetings to mingling, exhibitions and large dinners. Many of the rooms have flexible furniture that allows them to be adapted to each event, from the large to the slightly smaller and more intimate.
