The guide to Malmö's best julbord

Christmas host Robin Paulsson has invited his friends, singer Michael Sosinski from the Malmö band Boogie Fever and magician Jacob Schenström, to a Christmas show in classic talkshow style, with music, magic and comedy. Christmas food is served in four courses, with classic dishes to share. This promises to be an exclusive, festive evening.

A festive evening at Utmaningarnas Hus means delicious Christmas food, activities and lots of laughs. Guests enjoy two hours of various team challenges on arrival, followed by a classic julbord with a modern twist. Award-winning chef Daniel Pembert from Pembert & Company has created the menu. Add a pairing drinks package for the ultimate experience. 

To celebrate the season, Kasai lays out a luxurious, sustainable julbord, complete with one of the city's best views. All food is served direct from the kitchen to the table and consists of four courses with Japanese flavours to be shared by the whole table.

Glasklart takes you on a musical journey back to the 80s and 90s - MTV's heyday. The artists Therese Löf, Robin Blomgren and Julia Ingvarsson perform songs from Britney Spears, Aerosmith, Annie Lennox, Destiny's Child and Eminem accompanied by Glasklart's house band. Enjoy an entire evening of Christmas food and entertainment, which continues all evening with a DJ and dancing.

Tuck into the delicious flavours of the season surrounded by vaulted brick walls, candlelight and atmospheric music at Sankt Markus Vinkällare. There's a pickled herring table, hot dishes, desserts, cheese buffet and more, and they offer vegan alternatives. On Sundays, Father Christmas pays a visit and hands out presents to small guests.

Celebrate a green and sustainable Christmas at Botildenborg. The Christmas buffet is full of locally-produced, green dishes from all over the world. Come by for Christmas lunch or dinner, or why not combine your meal with a cookery event or some environmentally-friendly arts and crafts? Botildenborg mainly takes bookings from companies and large pre-booked parties.

Why not combine a French-style julbord with fun activities at Boulebar this year? Their French julbord is a four-course dinner, either meat or vegetarian, with French cheeses and desserts as well as a game of boules with a guide. Boulebar's julbord is ideal for both large and small groups.

At Havshotellet's restaurant Vessel, Christmas is celebrated with a traditional Christmas buffet filled with favourites such as ham, meatballs, home-smoked salmon and prawns, as well as a completely vegetarian section. To round off the meal, pay a visit to their generous dessert and sweetie table. Enjoy your festive flavours against a backdrop of views over Limhamn harbour. 

Combining a Christmas buffet with a moderately sweaty activity is never a bad idea. Big Bowl on Östra Förstadsgatan serve up a festive dining experience, combined with an hour's bowling - although you can of course come just for the food. New for this year is a whole vegetarian and vegan section as well as a pork-free section with Middle Eastern influences.

This year's Christmas theme at the Clarion Hotel is a sequel to last year's Christmas show “Julfadern”, inspired by The Godfather. With Sandra Mastio at the helm, the table is set for an Italian Christmas dinner, accompanied by interactive Godfather-themed entertainment performed by Cornelius Löfmark, Nadia Hamouch and Elton Bolton. Expect Italian Christmas food galore, aperitivos and a show unlike any other.

In the vaulted cellars of Malmö's historic city hall, chefs serve a traditional, classic julbord at lunch and dinner. Hot dishes include all the favourites, such as prinskorv chipolatas, salmon and Christmas ham, followed by glögg mulled wine and coffee.

Luftkastellet invites you to this year's version of their Rock ’N’ Roll Xmas Party with comedian Måns Möller. Together with award-winning Malmö artist and songwriter Simon Andersson and Linda Varg, the trio will be putting on a show filled with music and laughter. They'll also be serving a Scanian julbord with traditional flavours and a modern touch. After the show there's an afterparty complete with DJ.
