Celebrating Greater Manchester's storied history of queer screen talent, Scene will highlight new and classic LGBTQ+ productions.

Across seven days, the Scene festival will showcase new and classic LGBTQ+ films and TV series with a varied programme. Launching on 16 August with a screening of a classic episode of the pivotal series “Queer As Folk,” the weeklong festival will feature looks at other classic productions as well as premieres of new works. The screenings will be accompanied by various related events and activities, including discussions with authors, cabaret shows, a 90s “Queer As Folk”-style party, and more.

Scene is based primarily at the Home arts complex, though other venues across Manchester will be participating as well. An open-air screen showing free family-friendly productions such as “The Wizard of Oz” will also be set up outside Home.

Scene Festival will take place from 16 to 22 August in Manchester. You can find out more about the programme and book tickets on the festival website.
