In 2025, Manchester's beloved culture complex Home will open a new artist development hub. The £3.5m project aims to provide free, high-quality studio and training spaces for artists. Located across three railway arches near Whitworth Street West, the facility was designed with input from the artistic community.

Home Arches, as the new venture will be called, will offer 5,000 hours of free creative space annually, prioritising half of studio access for underrepresented groups such as disabled artists and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Aiming to elevate the quality of studio spaces in Manchester, Home Arches will encourage the creation of exceptional art for local and wider audiences. Spread across 258m2, the venue will encompass a sound-proofed studio, a street-facing exhibition space, and various other flexible areas.

Though the project has obtained the vast majority of its funding from government grants, £50,000 is still needed to equip the space with essential tools and facilities, and they're turning to the public for help – you can donate via the website here.

Home Arches is slated to launch in early 2025 to coincide with the tenth anniversary of Home.
