If you're already thinking ahead to the August bank holiday and wondering what you can get up to over the long weekend, we've got some great news - the biggest Italian food festival in the UK is returning to Manchester for its seventh year. Festa Italiana is taking place on 23rd-25th August. The event is free to attend and is packed full of exciting things for foodies to enjoy.
The festival will take place in Cathedral Gardens and brings together the city's Italian community, but everyone is welcome to get involved. Attendees will be able to sample delicious and authentic Italian cuisine from a whole load of different food vendors and shop for Italian ingredients to use at home. On top of that, there will be bars, live music, masterclasses and cooking demos, and activities just for the kids.
The event will kick off on the first day with a musical parade, plus there will be an exciting day dedicated to celebrating female Italian chefs. This aspect of the festival debuted last year and proved to be a big hit. There's no need to book a ticket for Festa Italiana – simply turn up and get stuck in to all those tasty Italian goodies. Visit the Festa Italiana website to find out more about what's on the festival agenda.
