On a September Saturday, the city will host the inaugural Copita Mezcal and Tequila Festival, with visitors able to sample more than 100 different Mexican spirits.

Taking place on the grounds of the Manchester Cathedral, the Copita Mezcal and Tequila Festival offers Mancunians the chance to sample a wide range of the best agave spirits from Mexico. Visitors will receive a limited-edition clay tasting copita they'll then be able to take around the more than 100 drinks stands at the festival. With each of the day's two sessions lasting three and a half hours, there'll be plenty of time to try a bunch of different artisanal spirits, and cocktails from the bar will be available as well. The on-site experts will also be able to provide fascinating information and insight into the world of mezcal and tequila.

In addition to the drinks, the Copita Mezcal and Tequila Festival will feature plenty of street food vendors tasked with making sure you aren't left to drink on an empty stomach.

The festival will take place on Saturday 14 September, from 12.30 to 9pm. You can find out more and book tickets here.
