I haven't cut my hair in Malmö before so I was looking for a salon to go to. I found Dark and Bright on Let's Deal, 690 SEK for cutting and dyeing long hair instead of 1390 KR. Sure, you might get what you pay for but in my world I think that offers like these are also a way to advertise their business / product and attract new customers. I was wrong in this case!
I am not so "sensitive" with my hair so I usually let the hairdresser work on as I assume that they are the specialist. I was at the salon for almost 3 hours (??!!) and during that time I had to sit and get the color in my hair for about 40 min, sit with the color in my hair about 1 h (she said I would sit with it for 30 min), sit in the wash for about 30 min, get cut for about 30 min, get cut for about. 25 min and have "waiting time" 15 min. During this time I also had time to get my face "flushed" as she failed to avoid the water getting in her face and have my scalp burned by the hair dryer. I had to pull my head away and say, "AJ, it's burning!"
When she was about to start cutting, she asked me where I used to have my "bone."" I showed her and then she combed my hair so and started cutting. Don't you usually cut from the middle leg so it's always on both sides?
She would cut the tops, it became 4 cm. I asked if her hair was really worn so far up and she said ,"yes, it really was". I feel my hair, it doesn't get so worn out. I checked with my hairdresser in Spain (which I can't get to now but which I otherwise go to 1 time/month for dyeing and every other month haircut) and he also confirmed that my hair should not be so worn that it needs to be cut so much.
I can definitely be wrong, it was perhaps so worn out but regardless, it was this hairdresser's overall impression / knowledge that gave me no confidence at all. Now afterwards I have thought that she might be a "new" hairdresser / apprentice and that is really okay for me but then I want to know before! If you do not get that information, I expect it to be an experienced / "professional" hairdresser you get and if that was the case this time, I really question her competence!
I have also read some reviews now afterwards and many praise their service which surprises me because I saw nothing of it yesterday when I was there. She was sometimes more interested in her mobile than "taking care of me" and/or being service-oriented. Loud music was also played in the salon so it gave the feeling that there was no big idea to talk, maybe that's why the social meeting / experience failed?!
