Tyresta National Park offers surprises and new gems every time I am there. This time we found several. After a while of hiking, we reach a small river where the water rushes down. The clear, cold water sparkles in the sun, and we stand for a long time listening to the sound. I didn't know that you could find such a beautiful river so close to Stockholm.
Further into the forest we find a mirror-like lake, and to our surprise we are completely alone. No one else is visible, no voices break the silence. It's just us, the water and the forest that stretch endlessly around us. I pick up the camera and capture the moment – my friend at the water's edge, reflected in the surface of the lake, surrounded by the magical fog that slowly moves over the water.
Tyresta has given me many memories to remember. Slowing down after everyday life in the big city has been so rewarding. I recommend everyone to slow down here, maybe you will also find something new next time you come here.

Hidden within the bland concrete facades of Fruängen lies an unexpected gem. As you step into Erssons Deli, you're greeted by the aroma of freshly grilled fish, a well-stocked seafood display, and a warm, personal atmosphere. Nothing is left to chance here – every detail, from the rustic wooden crates filled with fresh ingredients to the candles reflecting in the wine bottles along the wall, contributes to the overall experience.
When I ask about a specific fish in the display, the waiter lights up and enthusiastically shares its origin and the best cooking methods, as if we were reminiscing about an old culinary memory. A little later, he shares his best tip for making a really good skagenröra – a tip that I've already impressed with back at the dinner table at home.
This time I order seared trout with browned butter and horseradish. The fish is perfectly cooked, the butter nutty, and the horseradish adds a little kick that elevates the dish. Simple, well-prepared, and really delicious.
Next time, it will be the skagenröra.
Rating: 5/5 Fruängen, Stockholm Price: Mid-range Must try: Seared trout and seafood platter Vibe: Relaxed and genuine
