The stories at Escape Rooms are much more creative than the name. Both games follow a traditional lock, key and code format, which is the traditional non-linear way of working.

Choose from a game deep in the heart of Egypt’s oldest pyramid, where you’ll have 60 minutes to find Pharaoh Khufu’s treasure and light all the flames of the Gods to escape. If you remain inside the tomb for more than 60 minutes, be prepared to have your soul removed from your body and be summoned to guard the Pharaoh’s tomb and all of his treasures for the rest of the time.

Or, if ancient Egypt doesn’t excite you (or it absolutely terrifies you), why not go back in time to 1675 China, where you’ll act as guards of the emperor and ruler of the Qing Dynasty, Kangxi? When a priceless vase goes missing one night while you’re on watch, the emperor awakes and calls for your execution. That night, you’re met with a time travelling stranger who takes you forward in time to today, to room33 of the British Museum, where that very vase is sitting today. Your task is to find and take the vase back before the portal closes in exactly one hour. Which game would you choose?
