Building on the massive success of the book and film series, the new production will be bringing the heroic story of Katniss Everdeen to the stage for the first time ever.
Award-winning playwright Conor McPherson (“Girl from the North Country”, “The Weir”) and director Matthew Dunster (“2:22 – A Ghost Story”, “Hangmen”, “The Pillowman”) have teamed up to bring the country of Panem and the thrilling story of heroine Katniss Everdeen to life in a world-first theatrical adaptation. Considering “The Hunger Games” is one of the biggest phenomena in young adult fiction, with just the film franchise racking up over £2.5b worldwide, expectations are high indeed. In order to accommodate the expected crowds, the production will be performed in a brand-new purpose-built Troubadour Theatre in Canary Wharf, with a central stage and seating areas divided into the series' notorious Districts.
“The Hunger Games: On Stage” will premiere on 20 October 2025, but tickets go on sale in March already. Presale starts on 25 March at 10am, with general sale following 48 hours later. You can find out more and sign up for presale access here. May the odds be ever in your favour!
