At Three Darlings in Chelsea, cocktails are becoming less of a quick pre-dinner decision and more of a weekly ritual. The bar has started running regular cocktail masterclasses every Thursday and Friday, and they're somewhere between a guided tasting and a very civilised early-evening drink. You can arrive any time between 4pm and 8pm, settle in, and work your way through three versions of a single classic cocktail with olives and nuts on the side.
Thursdays are all about the martini. You'll taste a Vodka Martini, a Gin Martini, and a flavoured variation, with staff talking you through what actually separates them beyond the obvious base spirit. It's a nice reminder that a drink with so few ingredients can still have plenty of personality, depending on how it's built and garnished.
On Fridays, Margarita drinkers can try three different twists on the tequila classic, while Negroni fans can compare a traditional serve with a White Negroni and a flavoured version. At £45 per person for three cocktails and snacks, it's an easy way to turn an after-work slot into something a bit more substantial, without committing to a full evening plan.
