Royal Docks Originals is a new free biennial arts festival launching in September 2025. Spanning three weeks, it'll present over 50 events including installations, performances, and community art across London's Royal Docks.

Under the theme “Metamorphosis: a celebration of transformation and journeys,” The programme features major works from international and local artists such as Compagnie Carabosse, Chila Kumari Singh Burman, and Graphic Rewilding, with public commissions shaped in collaboration with residents. Highlights include a large-scale fire installation, neon sculptures, botanical murals, and more, while the IFS Cloud Cable Car will serve as a live performance space for music, poetry, and art. A variety of public events, workshops, markets, and open studio tours will animate the docks and celebrate its heritage and future.
The festival supports Newham's cultural strategy by embedding creativity into daily life and offering opportunities for local communities. With its unique waterside setting, Royal Docks Originals aims to become a cultural engine for London's next generation.
Royal Docks Originals will take place across the Royal Docks from 15 September to 4 October. You can find out more about the festival here.
