Not long ago, popular electronic music festival Field Day announced it will be leaving Victoria Park and moving to South London next year. While the continued operation of All Points East means there will still be plenty of live music in the popular East London park throughout the summer, Field Day's departure did mean there was an electronic music hole to be plugged in the park's programming. Thankfully, a new festival is stepping up to do just that.
Lido Festival, named after the park's Lido Field, will take place across two weekends in June and feature line-ups co-curated by the headliner of each day. The first of these is London's own master of intricate, intimate electronic music, Jamie xx, fresh of the release of his acclaimed new album “In Waves”. He's invited the likes of Arca, Sampha, Panda Bear, and Shy One along for the ride on 7 June, as well as his long-time The xx partner in crime Romy. The festival will also bring The Floor, Jamie xx's club residency at Venue MOT, to Victoria Park with a special line-up.
Tickets for Jamie xx and friends at Lido Festival go on sale on 1 November via Ticketmaster, and you can find out more about the festival here. We'll keep you posted about any future festival line-up reveals.
