Inspired by its proximity to King's Cross St Pancras, the stylish restaurant at the striking Great Northern Hotel has taken a page out of J. K. Rowling's books for its new afternoon tea menu.
Rails Restaurant offers a cosy, homely environment with modern British food, featuring art-adorned walls and attentive service, welcoming both Londoners and travellers. The menu is straightforward and select, highlighting starters like cured meats or artichoke soup, a focus on fresh, daily-sourced grilled meats, and a variety of cocktails, alongside French wines and liqueurs.
Located next to the King's Cross St Pancras train station and its fantastical Platform 9¾, a regular meeting point for Potterheads from around the world, Rails has drawn on the best-selling Harry Potter books for its new afternoon tea menu. Titled “Back to Hogwarts”, the themed afternoon tea features an enchanting selection of sweet and savoury treats inspired by the Wizarding World characters, locations, and objects. You can spend a magical afternoon munching away on Hogsmeade Chocolate Mousse Frogs, Hagrid's Butterbeer Panna Cotta, and Tomato Quaffle Arancini. The snacks are accompanied by a pot of tea, and you can also upgrade with a glass of prosecco or champagne for some extra sparkle.
