Walthamstow wine shop and restaurant Hometipple is launching a residency with award-winning British-Caribbean chef Marie Mitchell. Known for her debut cookbook “Kin”, which recently won the Fortnum & Mason Debut Cookery Book Award, Mitchell brings a fresh take on seasonal Caribbean-inspired cuisine to the area.

Mitchell's menu for Hometipple features dishes like jerk pork with lime and coriander, escovitch snapper, and her signature cornbread with thyme cream cheese and pickled chow chow. She'll be serving lunch and dinner, as well a special Sunday feasting menu with dishes such as curry goat and aubergine curry, all served with roti and tangy pickled salads.
The new residency aligns with Hometipple's ethos of combining seasonal ingredients, storytelling, and curated wines, with founder Mikey Studer highlights the cooking as both rooted in heritage and thoroughly modern, making it a perfect match for Hometipple's summer wine offerings.
Marie Mitchell will be at Hometipple on 8 July until September.
