Bao is undoubtedly a big name on the London food scene and the group is about to open a new site in Marylebone. Focusing almost exclusively on dumplings, Bao Mary is set to open in May and is a new take on the traditional Taiwanese dumpling house.

The space will be utilitarian and nostalgic, featuring an airy open kitchen with counter seating so you can watch the food being prepared. The restaurant will also have a few outdoor terrace tables plus a downstairs area suited to larger parties. Wood panelling and a coffee-coloured awning add to the restaurant's warm feel.

On the menu you can expect plenty of filled dumplings and other Taiwanese-style small dishes like noodles and beef tendon nuggets. The restaurant group is arguably best-known for fluffy steamed bao buns, so a small selection will also be included on the menu at Bao Mary. With Bao's Fitzrovia location having closed at the end of 2022, this new restaurant brings the group back to operating five sought-after eateries in the capital.
