Big Game is back at Twickenham Stadium, and after last year's sold-out edition became the biggest event in Harlequins' history, this one arrives with a fair bit of expectation attached. It's also happening slightly earlier than usual, landing on Saturday, 20 December.
The afternoon starts with Harlequins Women taking on Bristol Bears Women, followed by the men's teams later in the evening. One ticket covers both matches, which means you're committing to a long stretch at Twickenham, though that's kind of the point. Away from the pitch, the fan village does its best to keep everyone entertained with street food, drinks, free fairground rides and plenty of activities aimed at families and groups who may not have come purely for the rugby. Groove Armada will be headlining the entertainment with a pre-match DJ set, and there's an impressive light and pyrotechnics show planned once the sun goes down.
If you're after a quiet, traditional rugby experience, Big Game probably isn't for you. But if the idea of sport mixed with music, lights, and festival energy sounds like your idea of fun, it's a must-visit event on London's winter calendar.
