Southbank Centre is hosting a weekend-long Montreux Jazz Festival Residency from 31 January to 2 February, celebrating the life and work of singer-songwriter Nina Simone.
The line-up features neo-jazz singer Ni Maxine, singer-songwriter China Moses, jazz and neo-soul artist Laura Mvula, and electronic music producer and singer-songwriter Tony Njoku. Special guests also include Nu Civilisation Orchestra and Corinne Bailey Rae.

Nina Simone is celebrated worldwide as a singer, songwriter, arranger, and political activist who rose to fame in the late 1950s. Her protest anthem, 'Mississippi Goddam', addressed the murder of civil rights activist Medgar Evers and the Birmingham church bombing.
Southbank Centre is honouring her legacy, recalling her iconic performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1976, after returning from exile in Liberia, and at the Southbank Centre in 1999 during Nick Cave's Meltdown—one of her final UK shows before her passing in 2003.
Tickets cost £27 and can be purchased here.
