The Kinoteka Polish Film Festival returns from 4 February to 29 March 2026 in London, presenting contemporary and classic Polish cinema alongside documentaries, talks, and special events. The centrepiece is a major retrospective celebrating the 100th anniversary of Andrzej Wajda's birth, spanning six decades of his politically engaged and humanist filmmaking.

The festival will open with a 35mm screening of “Ashes and Diamonds” and includes landmark titles such as “A Generation”, “Man of Marble”, “Danton”, and “Katyn”. Ciné Lumière will also host memorable double-bills pairing Wajda with his former student and rival Andrzej Żuławski. The closing gala will feature “Brother”, a tense coming-of-age drama acclaimed at Polish and international festivals.
The festival's New Polish Cinema strand explores themes of community, identity, and social change through films by Jan Komasa, Agnieszka Holland, and other leading directors. Highlights include “Franz”, “Chopin”, “A Sonata in Paris”, “Home Sweet Home”, “In Laws 3”, and several inventive comedies and intimate dramas. Meanwhile, the Documentary programme presents three award-winning films and pays tribute to the late Marcel Łoziński, a giant of world documentary cinema.
In addition, a special tribute to Krzysztof Kieślowski will combine screenings, an AI interactive project, and live discussions. Alongside the film programme, audiences can enjoy performances, conferences on AI in cinema, cultural mash-ups with food and fashion, and a family-friendly screening of “The Dog Who Travelled by Train 2”.
Kinoteka will take place across multiple London venues. You can find out more about the festival and book tickets here.
