Crust Bros, the double National Pizza Award–winning London pizzeria known for its pillowy crusts and authentic Neapolitan pizzas, has opened its largest restaurant to date on Bedford Street in Covent Garden. The two-floor space seats 135 and introduces new dishes alongside the familiar build-your-own format.
The headline addition is a range of savoury bombas – Italian doughnuts with fillings like six-hour ragu 'Lasagna Bomba', the spicy 'Nduja Bomba', and a 'Blue Cheese Bomba'. On the sweet side, there are bombas filled with Nutella, dulce de leche, or lemon zabaglione, plus tiramisu and gelato from local producer La Gelateria, with flavours including orange, honey and rosemary, and chilli and basil.
You can choose your own topping or pick from the favourites menu, which includes 'Straight Outta Hell' (tomato, mozzarella, chicken, chillies, pepperoni, 'nduja) and 'Nonna's Yard' (tomato, mozzarella, caramelised onions, goat's cheese, mushrooms, pesto drizzle). The dough is made fresh every day, proofed for up to 72 hours, and baked at 450°C for a soft base with a perfectly charred crust.
The Covent Garden site also offers a short cocktail list, including the 'Crust Bros Coffee Negroni' with chocolate bitters, and a 'Rhubarb & Pomegranate Caipiroska'. Beers are served in frozen tankards, and there are house-made soft drinks such as lavender lemonade.
The Covent Garden site is now open for pizza, bombas and cocktails, seven days a week.
