Velvet Taco, a popular U.S. restaurant brand known for globally inspired tacos, is making its international debut in London's Soho in spring 2025, marking the start of their global expansion.
Velvet Taco, which started in Dallas in 2011, is known for its inventive tacos and rotating Weekly Taco Feature (WTF). The London location of the fast-growing taco chain aligns with Velvet Taco's focus on global flavours, offering fan-favourites like Spicy Tikka Chicken (crisp tenders, house-made spicy tikka sauce, buttered cilantro basmati rice, raita crema and Thai basil) and a London-inspired Fish 'n Chips taco with beer-battered cod, curry aioli, fries, malt vinegar, and napa slaw. Guests will also be able to enjoy Velvet Taco's Boozy Libations and signature Red Velvet Cake – a double-layered cake with cream cheese frosting drizzled with its house-made cajeta sauce.
The brand's first London restaurant will bring around 40 jobs to the local market, with more locations across the UK planned for the coming years.
We'll have more details on the Soho opening as they're revealed. You can pass the time until then by drooling over that slab of Red Velvet Cake on the side there.
