If you like your burgers smashed, cheesy and a little bit spicy, clear your lunch plans for early February. Paris-born smashburger icons Dumbo are teaming up with Soho institution Rita's for their first-ever London collaboration, and it's a short, spicy one. The one-off burger lands on Sunday, 1 February and is around for just one week.
At the centre of the collab is a reworked version of Dumbo's classic smashburger, seen through Rita's very particular (and very tasty) lens. It's inspired by New Mexico green chile cheeseburgers, featuring a double smash patty, American cheese and a smoky, fire-roasted green chile relish with confit garlic bringing the heat. On the side, you'll find fries tossed in Rita's own BBQ rub, and there'll also be Rita's ”Gilda Martinis“ on hand for sipping.
This is our first partnership with another restaurant in London, and doing it with Rita's felt like a natural fit,” say Dumbo founders Charles and Sam.
The burger lands at Rita's Soho on Sunday, 1 February, where it'll be served as part of a one-off Sunday menu (from 12pm until it sells out – bookings strongly advised). If you miss out, fear not: the burger will then also run as a lunch special for one week only at both Rita's and Dumbo Shoreditch.
