This weekend, Hampton Court Palace is opening its gardens to the public without the usual admission fee from 22-23 March as part of its Open Garden Weekend, a rare opportunity to experience the gardens at no extra cost.

On Garden Open Days, admission is free to most areas, but you'll still need a paid ticket to visit the palace, the Maze, or the Magic Garden Playground. Visitors can wander around some of the garden's most beautiful areas, like the Great Fountain Garden and the Kitchen Garden, offering a rare chance to enjoy some of the garden's stunning grounds without having to pay the entrance fee.

If you're planning to visit on Sunday, it's also good to be aware that the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon will be taking place, so the area is likely to be busier than usual.
