The annual BFI London Film Festival is a premier film festival that showcases a vast selection of films and hosts some of the biggest stars in the industry.
First held in 1957, this prominent UK festival takes place across several London venues in October, putting on a programme of more than 240 feature films and 150 short films from 70 countries, along with discussions, workshops, talks, and all sorts of other events for all ages and backgrounds.
Festival screenings this year include the premieres of some of the most heavily anticipated films this year, including David Fincher's adaptation of the graphic novel “The Killer”, Martin Scorsese's period thriller “Killers of the Flower Moon”, Bradley Cooper's biopic “Maestro”, and the animated sequel “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget”, alongside lesser-known but no less fascinating works by talented auteurs. A dedicated programme of free events is offered as well.
Though the red carpet won't be as glamorous this year due to the ongoing actors' guild strike, BFI London Film Festival will still be sprinkled with stardust thanks to its Screen Talk series. The in-depth interview programme include Scorsese, “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig, British actress, filmmaker, and writer Emerald Fennell, and others.
