The Black Eel, opening on October 24, is Exale Brewing's latest playground for adults, taking over a Grade II-listed former pie and mash shop. Inside, you'll find karaoke rooms, shuffleboard, darts, and one of East London's biggest hidden beer gardens.
This one is a proper social hub with 250 covers across lounges, flexible hire spaces, and a main bar that feels equal parts grand and cosy. Outside, 150 seats, leafy nooks, a pétanque court, and plenty of sheltered space mean you can drink, eat, and hang out whatever the weather.
As for food, Billy Fisher's Riley's kitchen is all about seasonal cooking, featuring dishes like steamed mussels, marinated chestnut mushrooms, and pork ribs with hot honey, plus desserts like Basque cheesecake and Eton Mess. Sundays are all about Riley's roasts, with prime Norfolk meat, organic veg, and gravy you'll want by the bucketload.
Exale Brewing's hazy IPAs, fruited sours, and craft beers are complemented by signature cocktails, natural wines, and a solid lineup of low- and no-alcohol options.
Exale Brewing's taken one of Dalston's oldest landmarks and turned it into a community-led pub that's as lively as it is cosy. Book ahead if possible, but walk-ins are welcome, as this is likely to be a busy spot.
