Each summer, the Greenwich+Docklands International Festival (GDIF) transforms Greenwich Peninsula and Docklands into a stage for large-scale outdoor theatre, dance, and art installations. The programme is entirely free to attend, with audiences welcome to chip in a donation to help keep the festival thriving.

In 2025, GDIF is celebrating its 30th birthday with the theme of “Above and Beyond”, bringing the action to parks, town centres, water spaces, roofs, basketball courts, and even up into the sky. Highlights include breathtaking parkour in Woolwich, Dancing City's return to the Olympic Park, daring international performances like Panama Pictures' floating structure in Thamesmead, and the much-loved Greenwich Fair bringing street theatre and family fun back to Greenwich Park. Alongside these events, the festival has also launched a commemorative book celebrating three decades of GDIF.
